Making dreams a reality
Kerry Balaam
Owner and Head Guide
Before doing her FGASA, Kerry was a swimming instructor however her passion for Africa's wildlife and having the privilege of living on the border of Kruger National Park inspired her to become a Guide. After qualifying in 2010, Kerry did some freelance guiding. Her first solo drive was when she was asked to cover for someone at short notice. With limited experience and feeling very nervous Kerry was thrown in at the deep end but this did not deter her and a few years later Kerry started up Kruger Pride Safaris. Her vision was to create a small business that put the customer first and provided the best experience for her guests.
Kerry has eyes like an eagle and can spot a lizard 200 metres away, so you will rarely miss a sighting with Kerry as your guide. She has also learned to judge the animal behaviour and seems to know when that leopard or lion is going to cross the road right in front of you! Cheetah are her favourites so if you are with Kerry you can be sure she is going to try and find them (although they don't always co-operate).
Kerry has fast gained the reputation as one of 'the top guides' in the area and her reviews are a testament to this.

And she thought it got easier when the children grew up !!!
Keeping us on the road
Dave Balaam (Dad)
Mechanic
Kerry's dad, Dave, is a qualified petrol and diesel mechanic with many years of experience - we won't say how many - age is only a number!
He is responsible for ensuring our two vehicles adhere to current legislation and safety standards. The comfort and safety of our guests is of prime importance to us, so Dave checks the vehicles on a daily basis to make sure they are mechanically sound, that the tyres are in an excellent condition and most importantly that they are clean! He has a touch of OCD when it comes to clean shiny vehicles!
